Football fans around Australia have been left ‘spewing’ after SBS On Demand’s stream of Argentina’s quarter-final clash against the Netherlands crashed late in the first half.
Angry viewers flocked to social media on Sunday morning to share their frustration after being left facing an error message instead of the scintillating World Cup clash between two tournament heavyweights.
“There was a problem with the network request,” the infuriating error message read.
“There was an error with the item you requested, it may no longer be available.”
Thankfully the stream lasted long enough for fans to witness an incredible Argentina goal set up by a piece of Lionel Messi magic.
SBS managed to rectify the issue by the time the second half rolled around, but not before hundreds of furious fans had blown up at the broadcaster.
Thankfully the streaming issues had no impact on the majority of viewers watching on their TVs, while some viewers watching the streams on their laptops were able to have an uninterrupted viewing experience.
The streaming incident brought back horrible memories from the 2018 FIFA World Cup when Optus Sport encountered numerous major technical problems.
More to come…
