The incident in question came in the 87th minute when Leandro Paredes fouled Nathan Aké before booting the ball directly at the Dutch bench.
That move saw the benches clear as the Netherlands players charged onto the field, while Virgil van Dijk ran across the field and body-slammed Paredes to further escalate the situation.

Paredes was given a yellow card for his role in the stoush, although he could count himself lucky to not have been double-booked for both the foul and kicking the ball at the Dutch bench.
Few commentators could hardly believe what they were saying, with both Chris Sutton and Martin Keown also believing Paredes fortunate to still be on the field.
“It’s all going off,” former England striker Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“What a moron. What is he thinking? Leandro Paredes just lost it.”
“Leandro Paredes just booted that ball into the Netherlands dug out. He has caused a riot there,” added former England defender Keown on BBC One.
“He is lucky. The foul was a booking in itself.”
Sky Sports’ Adam Bate described it as “ill-tempered” and agreed that Paredes was “lucky to dodge” a double booking.
Argentina held a 2-1 lead at that point and looked destined for victory before a late goal from Wout Weghorst — his second of the game — sent the contest to extra time.
